we are officially out of our old place and all moved in at the new place!
now that i don't have to go back and forth between houses i can commence with the painting. i have had a good break, so i don't dread the painting right now. all that is left is the hallway bath, the hall way, the laundry room, the laundry room bath, and the kitchen. I pretty much have in mind the colors i want in each room so that makes it a little easier too. in the hall way bath i don't really have a whole lot of choice because of the tile that is already in there. it's pink. and there is a lot of it. if we could afford it right now, that bathroom would be demolished and redone.
i don't know why typepad turned these last two side ways but you get the picture, it's all still pink. pink tile, the tub is pink, the sink is pink, the cabinet is pink, the walls are pink. pink! i thought about painting the walls and cabinet white, but then that would draw the eye to the pink tile and sink more. so i am thinking of a tan color, ecru i think. see? not much of a choice going here. i am open to any suggestions!
in the hallway i want to go with a neutral color. i have swiss coffee in the living room, but i am wanting to go a little darker than that in the hall, but the base boards will be white.
now the laundry room. well i already painted the laundry room, but i am not happy with the color. i wanted something bright so i went with this color
lets get a little closer...
this color is called lemon drop. i really like the color, but it's not what i had in mind for the laundry room because it's light, but not bright. and i think i want something a little bolder? laundry rooms are usually white and very clean looking. i want color, but a happy one that will make me happy about doing laundry and look forward to walking in there to do it. but i am not scratching this color off my list. i am thinking this is more what i want in the kitchen instead. i got the idea from better homes and gardens. lemon drop is not as green, but it's got enough in it for me. i love the way it looks against the white(which is what the cabinets will be) and the black accents. right now they are like a navajo white, very drab. we have wood laminate as our flooring and it looks a lot like this photo and stainless appliances. it will look spectacular when it's all done! i have to call a guy about building a banquette for the nook too.and the final bathroom next to the laundry room. ok. you know how the hallway bath is all pink? well this bath is blue! speckled blue tile in the shower, blue tile on the floor, and the sink is blue. ugh! at least it's not as bad as the pink. with this blue i can do white, or gray. this bathroom would be remodeled as well if the money were available. it's very tiny and the shower door...let's just say you need to be a skinny person to get through it!
alrighty folks that's all i have for today. tune in next time when i show you my ideas for my nook!
Thanks for the peak into your new house! :-) It sounds like you have lots of work cut out for you but it will be so fun to see it all come together!
I am in the decorating mood so bad... and then what arrives in my mailbox - the new Pottery Barn catalogs. Ugh. Soooo many cool ideas and things I want in there!
Love your lemon drop color and I think it looks great in the laundry room. I am wanting to redo our LR too... but can't decide on a color. We just got new front loaders in red and I can't decide what bright wall color I want. I am leaning toward a bright yellow... right now it has a sage green and it's really yuck with my red W/D.

What about having your bathroom tile glazed? On saw it on a home improvement show. It is kind of like spray paint but formulated so that it doesn't flake or scratch off. I don't exactly know how it works but the designers say that it is an inexpensive option....

Yes, lots of work to do! I love the pottery barn catalogs too, ready for them to come out with totally new stuff though. I never tire of looking through the rooms to see what to place on tables and arrangements.
The lemondrop color is great- I just want something a little darker and bolder in the laundryroom though. We'll see. I think a bold golden color would look good in your l/r with your red w/d!
I really want to put up photos around the house but I am having trouble figuring out what I want to put up. Like the dining room, I don't want to put up photos of the kids, or do I? If not, then what kind of photos do I go with? ugh! decorating decisions! i think I love it though ;)

I found this online. It's supposed to allow you to paint over ugly ceramic tile. I've never tried it, but thought it might be something you could inquire about. http://www.refinishingonline.com/ceramic%20tile.htm
